A sword has range, but it's slower since it has more mass than a knife, plus if you miss your target with a sword an enemy has more chances to counter you. A kick to the groin is not as effective as usual since it won't register as much to someone who wants to kill you in cold blood. A front kick is good, but you're putting your leg at risk, and your enemy would simply come back for more. There's pros and cons to using a knife or a sword in a fight, but they're both better than using ones fists.

there's a big difference between real swords and replicas pal. modern technology and methods and ways of figuring out which metals are stronger people can make a lot stronger swords now then some old dude making a sword himself 1000 years ago from some metal he got himself. Sorry but there's no mystics or legends or "unbreakable ancient steel" that doesn't exist today you so desperately want to believe. there are actually forged weapons still. but ya they dont sell them on the HSN for $199.

where's the science in this?? this is not science!!! it's a show for 8 years old mental age. anyone who likes that show is either a kid or is mentally retarded. you can always delete my comment again, but it's just the truth. a show like this does not 'show' any science or anything valuable-- it is for people who collect knifes and guns--kids or psychopaths. I think it's important and fair that people see my comment and are aware of my point of view.
